The role

is also responsible for related contractor and cost management, is the continuous improvement owner for the site, and is accountable for delivering small to medium sized capital projects.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Constructively lead a team of five direct reports with overall responsibility for 180 people
  • Ensure the team deliver on budgeted commitments, within agreed timeframes, to the required standards
  • Operational and legislative responsibility, building functional and constructive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Work with the Technical Services team to produce deliverable mine plans, forecasts and budgets
  • Visibly and proactively align teams to plans, goals and targets through regular pre-starts, meetings and communications
  • Management of costs in line with budget (operating and capital), including monthly accruals and cost reviews, overall performance, and action planning for areas of variance
  • Promote and adhere to internal methodologies, policies, procedures and standards by consistently maintaining a high quality of work across all allocated functions
  • Change management and continuous improvement of the Martha mine operation
  • Primary contact with WorkSafe, ensuring Martha operation is fulfilling key regulatory requirements (Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations Regulations 2016)
  • The successful candidate will have the following:

  • 1st Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency
  • Mine Engineering Degree or similar qualification
  • Track record of delivering on high-speed development, with contractor experience
  • Minimum five years Underground mining experience, including two years leading high performing teams
  • Full and current driver licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred
