We have a great opportunity for a person to step into a fantastic role as Manager Office of the Deputy Director-General. This is a critical role which provides support to the Deputy Director-General and business support to the wider Directorate.


This position sits within the Health System Improvement and Innovation Directorate which supports and promotes innovation and continuous system improvement through quality commissioning and policy, effective regulation and evidence-based decision making.


As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the role of Manager Office of the Deputy Director-General is responsible for providing key support to the Deputy Director-General and leading the Office of the Deputy Director-General team. With a highly capable team of four, you will develop and maintain annual business plans for the Directorate, coordinate reporting requirements and Directorate input to Ministry planning and reporting, coordinate Directorate input into briefings, weekly reports, PQ’s OIA’s and Ministerials as well as overseeing the production of high quality weekly reports for Ministers as required (including co-ordination activity through to strategic oversight of quality and content accuracy).


To be successful, we are looking for someone with highly developed written and oral communication skills, and an ability to take complex information and synthesise into key message for relevant audiences, experience driving streamlined business processes that are ‘right sized’ for the organisation, and ensuring review for continuous improvement as well as an excellent knowledge of government structures and processes, the machinery of Government, and managing a budget. You will have an eye for detail as well as the big picture, expansive networking ability, and an ability to balance improvement andinnovation, services andsystem, and finally sustainability andtransformation.
