What you will doThe Manager, Performance and Evaluation is NZ Defence College’s principle learning evaluation subject matter expert, responsible for coordinating and communicating all NZDF individual learning related evaluation and measurement activities. As a manager within Learning Directions Group, you will contribute to our unit mission to enable quality contemporary learning as part of our larger team. We strive for a team culture of belonging, support, and accountability.This role is responsible for effectively leading a national team of evaluation team members to:Ensure monitoring systems track and maintain oversight of NZDF individual learning performance;Provide evidence based information to enable NZDF stakeholders to assess and understand the impact of individual learning across the NZDF learning system;Provide strategic and operational reporting information to inform data driven decision making.What we needWe are seeking an evaluation professional who is a great people manager. You will have experience leading a team to provide evaluation or data driven insights for the improvement of learning or training. Exceptional communication skills are required so you can translate those insights into practical and tangible change recommendations and influence change in our workplace. In addition to this description, our ideal candidate is someone who:communicates evaluation data into meaningful infographics and decision support tools for stakeholders;works comfortably in complex stakeholder landscapes;translates cross-sector evaluation best practice into the Defence context and situation;actively contributes to cross-Directorate working groups; is a systems thinker.Successful applications will have at least 5+ years’ experience leading training/education evaluation in a large and complex environment similar to NZDF and ideally hold a relevant Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Evaluation, Leadership, or Tertiary Teaching Assessment.Opportunities exist for the successful candidate to gain additional evaluation qualifications.
