About our group and team
The Resourcing Group develops and implements resourcing policies and calculates staffing and operational funding entitlements for schools. Schools and the Early Childhood sector are monitored and supported through the audit and school financial advisory function within the Group. The Resourcing Group also provides a centralised customer contact and enquiry service for the Sector and other areas of the Ministry.
About this role
Reporting to the Group Manager, the Manager, School Financial Advice is responsible for ensuring that the Ministry can provide a high level of strategic and operational financial advice to schools and kura, to ensure schools are supported in financial governance, management and decision-making. They will oversee the monitoring of schools through managing relationships that strengthen schools’ regulatory and legislative compliance.
The Manager is responsible for the consolidation of school Financial Statements into Government Financial Statements and managing a regionally based team of Finance Advisers who provide direct support to a portfolio of schools and kura.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the outcomes of young people by ensuring their schools are financially well managed.
To be successful in this role you will have a good understanding of the financial management of complex budgets and funding. You will have recent experience leading a team and be able to grow and develop the capacity and competency of the team to improve educational outcomes across the sector.
