At Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), our key role is to ensure New Zealanders have accurate information about where people and places are, that people have confidence in their property rights and that Crown property is well managed for future generations.
LINZ has initiated a long-term programme to modernising New Zealand’s Land Information platform & services, namely our Landonline system. To achieve this, we have designed a comprehensive work programme, with work prioritised to provide benefits for customers and mitigate security concerns as quickly as possible.
To support our Architecture and Security teams as they work to fulfil our goals in this work, we have created a position for a Manager Strategy, Architecture and Security.
This challenging and exciting role requires working closely right across the senior levels of LINZ to understand how technology supports the business of LINZ. You’ll work with other key Business Managers from LINZ’s digital teams to ensure there are enterprise architecture blueprints that provides sound guidance and direction all LINZ business managers in their use of technology.
This role offers a lot of room for professional development. You’ll have direct support from our Chief Information officer as you support the LINZ Digital Strategy and directly champion all cascading technology strategies. You’ll have the opportunity to engage with central government agencies and the GCDO. You’ll rely on your previous professional experience to establish solid core stakeholder relationships and build trust and confidence on behalf of LINZ.
This position will give you the chance to oversee the functions of IT Strategy, Architecture and Security and provide us with guidance on our architectural and security governance across LINZ nationally to ensure that we are conforming to expected practice.
With your proven skill as a manager and strong experience influencing key stakeholders and resolving issues pragmatically, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of the LINZ Architecture Review Board. You’ll be accountable for ensuring all LINZ IT projects seek endorsement from this forum and, as such, will actively be shaping LINZ’s future digital presence.
You’ll demonstrate a real blend of strong technical skills with engaging, proactive and hands on people management skills. This role will set you up for strong future career prospects – you’ll be creating an over-arching business plan for the IT Architecture and Security teams and be actively promoting the plan to get your people unified behind your clear working vision.
