The Market Access Directorate’s role is to maximise trade opportunities for New Zealand’s primary industry and food sectors. You will deal with specific market access issues, identify strategic issues and potential responses, manage stakeholder and overseas competent authority relationships, and negotiate with foreign competent authorities the market access conditions for New Zealand primary product and food exports. You will also be required to help develop and mentor more junior members of the Directorate.
The position requires knowledge and experience related to primary product or food production and export; food or biosecurity regulatory systems; maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders; analysing market access information; and provide high quality and timely reports.
