Our Water team in Tauranga are proud to work with the Tauranga City and are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the team.

A bit about your role:

Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor you will have industrial mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in Water or Wastewater, have an understanding of mechanical issues relating to submersible and surface pumps and treatment devices such as centrifuges, compressors, mixers, aerators and blowers, etc together with an understanding of PLC controlled applications.

The water contract is responsible for the maintenance of the water, wastewater, and stormwater networks and pump stations, mechanical and electrical maintenance of treatment plants, meter reading services, backflow device testing, and grounds maintenance so no day is the same. 

A bit about you:

The successful candidate with be familiar with preventative maintenance regimes, computer literate (ability to complete time and job sheets, and technical literacy to operate static and mobile telemetry devices), able to plan jobs, operate and maintain equipment without supervision while always keeping a focus on and have an outstanding customer service attitude when working with customers, the client and sub-contractors.


  • Full NZ Driver Licence – class 1.
  • Hiab training would be an advantage
  • Certification in confined spaces & working at heights preferred
