You’ll enable their success through providing professional, high-quality mental health support, in-turn allowing them to flourish during their time at Unitec. The role has a particular focus on supporting our Maori, Pacific, International and Under 25-year old student groups.You’ll come from a clinical background gained in either Psychotherapy, Psychology, or Counselling, and hold the relevant postgraduate /Masters qualifications, and current registration with your governing professional body. You will have the demonstrated ability to work successfully with a broad range of mental health consumers, within a multi-disciplinary team.You’ll also demonstrate;Proven experience working with complex and chronic mental health issuesExperience in successfully assessing and managing risk.Successful advocacy on behalf of consumers and the ability to convey an understanding of the mental health process to othersFull membership of NZAP, NZPB, NZAC or equivalent bodyHold a postgraduate or Masters tertiary qualification acceptable to the New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists (NZAP), New Zealand Psychologists Board (NZPB), New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) or other relevant professional body, as agreed with the Manager Te Puna WaioraAn understanding or desire to learn Te Reo Māori, Tikanga Māori and the values and practices of Kaupapa MāoriThis is a part-time position (18.75 work hours per week, preferred days of work are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday).
