We are now seeking to appoint multiple facilitators to join our mentor team based in Auckland on a full-time, fixed-term appointment commencing 18 Jan 2021 – 14 Jan 2022.You’ll work with teachers in primary or secondary schools to support them to develop their mathematics teaching in an ambitious, culturally sustaining way.You will possess a relevant teaching qualification, have recent teaching experience in Aotearoa NZ, and have some experience and understanding of Developing Mathematical Inquiry Communities. You will be able to provide evidence of the application of best-practice in mathematics teaching in your pedagogy.The role will involve working with teachers during mathematics lessons in a range of schools and leading professional development in meetings. You’ll take leadership in developing cross community communication.Working with the school and local wider community you will:Lead parent mathematics workshopsMentor parents to lead mathematics workshopsLead teacher and parent meetings which support shared communicationMassey University is committed to being a Treaty of Waitangi-led organisation.
