Join our Insights, Monitoring and Evaluation (IME) team as a MERL Contract Manager. This senior position is responsible for actively supporting IME to successfully manage the delivery of PDG’s highly ambitious Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning (MERL) 4 Year Plan (4YP) work programme, currently $20+ million over three years.
This role is within the Development Capability and Insights (DCI) Division as part of the Pacific and Development Group (PDG) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. DCI is a support function for the rest of the group focused on providing exceptional internal customer service in business practice, learning & development, research, monitoring, evaluation, planning and reporting.
As the MERL Contract Manager, you will lead the delivery of the MERL 4YP work programme and contract management for the IME team. This involves proactively monitoring and forecasting our work and driving ongoing and annual program pipeline planning.
You will be an experienced project and contract manager and assist with establishing effective systems to assist with the management of programme and contract performance. You will manage the Monitoring Evaluation Research Learning (MERL) Panel, our Research Fund and the New Zealand Aid Program Field Awards.
We’re looking for someone who is confident, experienced and passionate about delivering outcomes and high quality internal customer service. To be successful in this role you’ll bring:
• In-depth experience of successfully delivering and managing projects and programmes and undertaking assessments to support senior management decision making
• Experience in contract managing with a range of external providers
• Experience in building strong collaborative relationships with all parts of the business
• Be a team player, with strong people skills and a proven ability to influence
• Demonstrated experience of a large, complex project management environment.
