For more than 150 years, fire service organisations have been at the heart of New Zealand communities. Our vision is to build stronger communities and protect what matters most to the people within them.
Our 14,000+ personnel are based across our New Zealand. We work closely with the public to reduce risk, improve readiness, respond to emergencies and help communities to recover from disaster. We’re building a modern emergency management organisation with the structure, resources and skills to protect life, property and New Zealand’s unique environment. We are now recruiting experienced people for key new positions to join the organisation’s move towards a truly unified organisation.
The Finance and Business Operations Branch (FABO) ensures that the organisation has sound strategic financial advice and financial and business management systems and processes to operate effectively and efficiently. The Branch also has accountability for data and analytics for the organisation and works closely with other Branches to ensure the data collected is what is needed to inform our planning and reporting.

Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Executive, you’ll lead a range of critical business activities for the organisation, including national administrative systems, business administration services, national supplier relationship management, facilitating expert user groups, records management, business continuity planning, and management of the national system for resolution services.
The work is diverse and interesting and there is a chance to implement ideas and make your mark.
