WorkSafe New Zealand is looking for a National Manager Interventions and Support to join our Specialist Interventions (SI) team.

This newly created position will help shape our future direction by contributing to the development of new and delivering the existing suite of interventions to address incidents of harm, serious harm, and compliance breaches, with a focus on maximising the strategic value and impact of these interventions. As part of the new SI leadership team, you’ll be responsible for implementing the changes that will develop and embed this team, as well as a new file management function.

This is an opportunity with significant scope to influence and make a difference. To be successful you will have:

  • experience leading teams of professionals to ensure that services are delivered to a consistently high standard
  • experience leading change, modelling and encouraging new ways of working, and reinforcing desired behaviours
  • in-depth experience with intelligence-led proactive responses and the ability to lead and develop innovative approaches
  • regulatory experience
  • proven experience as a member of a leadership team and contribution to collective decision- making for an entire group
  • sound judgement and decision-making capability and a practised ability to assess risks
  • sound knowledge of relevant legislation, and experience working within an operational policy/practice framework environment, business processes, and how these should be applied
  • the ability to develop trust and credibility with the business community, stakeholders, the general public, and WorkSafe leadership
  • resilience and adaptability with the ability to keep focus on longer term goals
  • experience engaging with iwi/Māori and the Crown
  • understanding and commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, and the principles of equal employment opportunities

Salary range is from $160,538 to $214,050 dependent on experience.
