About the role:
Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Executive, Partnering For Outcomes, this role is responsible for ensuring that our procurement, funding and contracting teams work effectively with internal and external stakeholders so that more tamariki and whānau get the support they need to achieve their wellbeing goals.


As part of the Partnering for Outcomes leadership team you will help to form partnering strategies and make sure that how we work turns strategy into action and outcomes. This will mean making sure that our partners have the resources they need to make a difference, ensuring that Oranga Tamariki can demonstrate value from our investments, generating the insights that Oranga Tamariki and our partners need to continuously improve social services, and transforming our contractual arrangements so that they better reflect the collaboration and shared endeavour that Oranga Tamariki has with our social sector partners. 
This Leadership role will require a high level of collaboration with other government, non-government organisations and internal stakeholders. Relationship building will be required for quality assurance of section 7AA of the Oranga Tamariki act.


Skills and experience:

  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and management skills and to support an engaged business group
  • Ability to complete reports on progress and business plans at a high level
  • Experience implementing policy across a business group
  • Understanding of the Oranga Tamariki act, in particular section 7AA
  • Knowledge of Māori tikanga and understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi
  • Proven experience in developing a business strategy including delivering continuous improvements
  • The ability to network and make connections across Oranga Tamariki and other organisations
  • Previous cross-agency partnering or commissioning
  • Demonstrated communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical information in plain language, both written and verbally
  • Experience analysing data, implementing reporting systems and internal controls

To be successful in this role, you will have held a lead role in strategy and procurement functions within large complex organisations, be adept at strategic thinking and have built high performing teams. Additionally, you will have tertiary or business qualification, excellent relationship management skills, combined with a collaborative and consultative approach.

Remuneration for this role will be between $120,880 – $181,320pa in line with experience.
