The Team: What we do

Our older persons’ health and rehabilitation services (OPH&R) located at Burwood Hospital cover assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and psychiatric services for the elderly in inpatient, outpatient, day services and community settings.

We are seeking a new graduate Dietitian who is ready to kick-start their career and who has a strong desire to learn! As part of our small and experienced team of Dietitians, you will receive regular supervision and opportunities for professional development!

This is a full-time, fixed-term position until approximately March 2022. The days and hours required are Monday – Friday within core business hours.

The Role: Where you fit in

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Providing nutritional assessment and nutritional care plans to inpatients and outpatients
  • Providing nutritional education to patients within the service, enthusing and motivating real behaviour change
  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team and liaising with health providers

Your skills will include the following:

  • A recent graduate who is passionate about learning and developing their career as a Dietitian
  • A drive to ensure the best health outcomes for people with nutrition related disorders
  • The ability to work within a team and contribute to the provision of quality care within the service
  • Being self-motivated, organised and enjoy a challenge
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and nurture relationships with patients and other people within the service
  • Previous experience working with older persons is advantageous
  • NZ Registration as a Dietitian with a current annual practising certificate (or application in progress) is essential

As there may be some travel required for community work, a full NZ driver’s licence is essential
