NIIO Coordinator Position, Duty Coroners Office (Fixed Term 6 months and  Part Time 20 hours per week), Coronial Services Unit, Ellerslie, Auckland


The Ministry of Justice provides administrative support to the Coroners of New Zealand. 

We are a small, dedicated Team working shifts around the clock to provide exceptional service to our Coroners, internal and external stakeholders and the community.

Our office operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  A part time position with us requires the flexibility to work rostered shifts.  Shifts include days, afternoons (to midnight) and midnight to 08:30. 

The position we have available is for a fixed term for 6 months from 9 March 2020 to 9 September 2020 to cover holiday leave and reorganisation.  It would ideally suit someone who is able to work any shift to cover leave for full time staff and peak workflows, sometimes at short notice.  The hours may include 4 hour and 8 hour shifts. 

There must be an ability to work weekends, public holidays and university/school holidays.  The hours overall will average 20 hours per week.

The salary band for this position is (pro rata) between $48,853 and $68,968 with a starting point of up to $50,000 dependant on experience. 

To be successful in this role requires exceptional interpersonal skills that will support your work with people under diverse and sometimes sensitive circumstances.  From time to time there will be a requirement to deal with emotive material.
