The Team: What we do

The Canterbury DHB’s Quality Patient Safety Team, located atOxford Terrace, have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to jointheir team as a Nurse Co-ordinator – System Improvement. The Role: Where you fit in

We are looking for a Registered Nurse who has a patient focussedapproach to their work, an analytical mind, and a natural curiosity toinvestigate incidents across the Canterbury DHB services, particularly inregards to falls and pressure injuries. If you are a Registered Nurse who hasclinical experience working for a large health organisation and are passionateabout informing quality improvement in an ever changing workforce then we wantto hear from you!

As a Nurse Coordinator – Systems improvement, your role will exist incollaboration with service leaders, both clinical and non-clinical, and QualityTeams. You will be responsible for impartially reviewing and investigatingFalls and Pressure Injury events in a timely manner. In addition, you willcoordinate panel reviews and outputs, to inform systems improvements.

The essentials for this role are:

  • Registered Nurse with significant experience in the health industry
  • High standard of written and verbal skills
  • Passion for quality and patient safety
  • Exceptional customer service for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Competent knowledge of office computer applications

*Sound clinical knowledge of falls and pressure injuries would be anadvantage in this role.

This is a permanent, 1 FTE position, working Monday – Friday within businesshours (exact hours to be negotiated at interview stage).
