  • Scion specialises in research, science, and technology development for the forestry industry, wood products, and wood-derived materials and chemicals. Specialists in propagation and forest management, we lead new technology development for renewables, bioproducts, and energy and the establishment of a broader-based bio-economy.

    Working with the nursery team you will:

  • Support the Nursery Operations Manager with the supervision of staff, infrastructure, facilities, and resourcing.
  • Support the Nursery Operations manager in the achievement of nursery projects.
  • Supervise the production of commercial and research crops in line with operational direction and client needs.
  • Contribute to the identification of continuous improvement opportunities across Scion nursery facilities and projects.
  • Work collaboratively across Scion teams.
  • To be successful in this role, your skills and experience will include:

  • Minimum Level 4 certification in Horticulture/ Agriculture/ Management (TBC) or similar with relevant experience in nursery production, automation and leading a team.
  • At least 3+ years containerised nursery production experience.
  • Science research experience with experience in managing programmes and projects would be a major advantage.
  • Knowledge of plant production, propagation techniques, and safety standards-essential.
  • Strong customer service focus with the ability to motivate a team to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to accept, advocate and lead change.
