Operational Readiness Analyst

The MBIE ICT Service Design & Readiness team requires an enthusiastic and committed Operational Readiness Analyst to provide excellent analytical skills as an integral part of the team. We are a small high performing team within – ICT Services, Platforms and Operations – and we deliver the following key functions, ICT service design assistance (service support), transition facilitation and operational readiness reviews for new or modified services.

This is a role for an experienced Analyst, who has the ability to forge key relationships with a diversity of stakeholders. Reporting to the Manager Service Design & Readiness this position is accountable for the maintenance of an overall MBIE release plan and works with colleagues to identify and report on system changes across the MBIE ICT environments, takes ownership of our processes and seeks to continuously develop them with a focus on enterprise considerations. The role has an overview of all ICT transition activities and will develop and maintain appropriate status reporting, including (but not limited to) risk and issues registers.

Skills and experience

Experience in ICT Project Delivery and ICT Operations including outsourced environments; ITMS; Cloud Services
An Analyst who has experience in the transition of new and modified systems into a production environment, ICT Release or Change governance and/or environment management
A strategic and analytical thinker who is able to make connections between various aspects of the organisation and the implications or potential risks for the ICT branch
Ability to quickly establish, build strong working relationships and develop trust and credibility with managers, staff, vendors and other stakeholders
Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining an environment focussed on continuous improvement to enhance our performance
Scheduling using MS Project, experience with Confluence and Jira
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
An eye for detail, particularly the ability to proactively identify potential issues or problems
Experience writing reports and presenting information from various data sources/sets to produce meaningful insights
Is comfortable running process inductions with new Project capability resources
Ability to prioritise and continually re-assess in a busy and demanding environment
NZ Government experience/understanding of the machinery of government

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in a business or technology related discipline or equivalent experience
Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
