Operational Risk and Compliance Manager

About The Role
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
Guides key business stakeholders in the application of relevant policies and frameworks
Uses subject matter expertise to analyse information from multiple sources in order to provide actionable insights for stakeholders
Help manage complex projects or issues to provide benefit (or manage risk) for our customers and the bank.
Build strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
Coach less experienced staff in order to continue build and maintain a strong team culture.
Manages day-to-day operational activities with little or no supervision
Apply risk management principles to protect the bank from negative financial consquences
Ensure actual / potential operational losses (non-lending) are treated in accordance with ANZ Operational Risk Frameworks and that ‘loss owners’ are effectively managing loss incidents including remediation of gaps, recovery activities & consequence management.
Act as the primary contact point and source of guidance and/or advice to business stakeholders for all relevant matters.
Responsible for ensuring that business stakeholders are aware of policy requirements and help them meet requirements.
Responsible for leading the effective implementation of initiatives within the business areas in line with current frameworks or other policies.
Actively contribute to the wider Risk and Governance team to deliver outstanding performance outcomes.
Embrace, drive and support change. Ensure sharing of ‘best practice’ ideas. Identify potential process/service enhancements, escalate as required.
Role Type: Permanent, Full Time
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
3+ years risk experience within the business would be advantageous.
Diverse banking experience demonstrating a sound knowledge and understanding of ANZ
Able to use initiative. Be proactive by taking action and be persistent and resilient in addressing issues.
Able to build strong, open and collaborative working relationships, ability to liaise with and influence internal stakeholders.
Analytical and problem solving skills.
Able to manage priorities and conflicting issues in a professional manner.
Risk management experience and complex event management within the business would be advantageous.
