The New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) is currently recruiting for an Operations Officer in Auckland. We are looking for a highly talented and professional individual with a range of life experience to work within this diverse and exciting area of our organisation.
The Operations Officer is responsible for the delivery of critical intelligence between deployed operational teams and key stakeholders in support of national security investigations and operations throughout the country. It would suit someone who is keen to take on a challenging and dynamic role.

To be successful in this role, you need to be resilient, able to work in a high pressure environment, and be committed and enthusiastic about the role of the NZSIS. You will be comfortable working both in a team environment and alone, and your ability to multitask and prioritise information will be key. Working in a dynamic operational environment, you will be comfortable managing periods of relative inactivity, together with often unpredictable periods of intense and fast-paced activity. Ideally, you will have experience in an operational control centre or communications centre.

Experience handling, understanding, processing, analysing and communicating intelligence, or similar information
As an Operations Officer, you will be required to work unsociable hours at any time of the day or night to meet operational requirements.

Salary range: $58,549 – $87,823 per annum

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold NZ Permanent Residence or hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
You must be able to obtain and maintain a high level security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
