An opportunity has arisen to provide high-quality communications support to Jacqui Dean, MP. This position offers real variety and plays a vital behind-the-scenes part in the parliamentary process.
As the Parliamentary Communications/Research Assistant to Jacqui Dean, MP you will have the ability to communicate complex issues in everyday language via a range of media and communication channels. This role is a varied you will be tasked with anything from drafting speeches, press releases columns or editorials. You will have strong written communication skills and a good knowledge of research methodology.
You will be a part of an environment that is sometimes unpredictable and instead of letting it faze you, you thrive on it. You’re happy to work autonomously and are well known for your resilient and unflappable nature. This position would be ideal for a freelancer as work can be flexible and potentially be completed in evenings or weekends. Knowledge of the political environment, parliamentary procedure and the Wanaka Cromwell area is desired.
This is a casual role and will require someone to have the ability to work from home. This is an events-based, fixed-term position linked to the term of the Member of Parliament.
