Fantastic opportunity to provide economic research, policy and analytical advice to Michael Woodhouse and Andrew Bayly, MPs. You will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce majoring on Economics, Finance and/or Accounting with relevant experience and a strong technical foundation in macroeconomics. Equally, if you are a recent graduate with the ability to learn and grow quickly, we want to hear from you. You’ll be a team player who will enjoy collaborating with others and be well-known for your resilient and adaptable nature.

This role is a varied and multifaceted one where on any given day your responsibilities may include:

  • Monitoring and summarising economic analysis
  • Drafting of written, oral questions and assisting with the drafting of press releases
  • Providing economic advice
  • Using your research skills to interpret and collate data, compile statistics and produce reports
  • Research on economic policies and emerging economic issues.
  • As an employee of Parliamentary Service you will be apolitical in your role. Awareness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting your MPs. You’ll appreciate the sometimes unpredictable nature of this environment and instead of letting it faze you, you’ll thrive on it.

    This is an events based, fixed term role linked to each MP, working 40 hours per week. Some flexibility in hours may be required.

    The appointing salary band for this role isĀ $62,554 to $78,193 per annum. Appointments will be based on your skills and experience.

    Our ideal applicant will have studied economics or have relevant experience. While this role is for an Advisor, we would be happy to consider applicants at an assistant level for this role.
