The Pacific Association of Supreme Audit Institutions (PASAI) is the official association of 27 Supreme Audit Institutions (government audit offices and similar organisations, known as SAIs) in the Pacific region.
PASAI has an Auckland-based Secretariat, and operates through a New Zealand-registered incorporated society. Its budget is about NZ$3 million each year. Its work is currently funded by several development partners, including the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the European Union through the United Nations Development Program.
The Secretariat is responsible to lead the region to achieve the outcomes of PASAI’s 10-year Strategic Plan 2014-2024. A revised Chief Executive role was established in 2015 to lead the implementation of the Strategic Plan. Following the completion of the Chief Executives 5 year term the Governing Board is undertaking an open recruitment process to identify the best person to lead the next phase of the Strategy.
The Chief Executive holds overall responsibility for effective delivery on the PASAI Strategic Plan and leads the small Secretariat. They will support SAIs in the region, and work closely with stakeholders to achieve goals. The position will be for the completion of the current Strategic Plan however initially it will be a fixed term until 31 December 2021 when the location of the Secretariat may change.
