We’re looking for an energetic and proactive personal assistant that can grasp things quickly, can see how things connect together and takes the initiative to sort stuff out. If you’re a calming influence as well, it’s a winning combo.

Sitting within the People Group, the Organisational Development (OD) Unit is all about optimising organisational performance through people. We care about creating an environment where we have awesome leadership, and people feel they belong and can thrive through our internal storytelling, learning and development, flexible work environments, well supported wellbeing, diversity and inclusion etc. We design people systems and processes that drive our desired organisational culture and help us be great.

You’d join Te Papa Atawhai at a time of unprecedented growth and challenge. We have our sights set very much on the future while still meeting our core organisational deliverables in the here and now to meet our conservation objectives. It’s busy but it’s exciting and fun, and there’s such meaning and purpose in the work.

You will be primarily supporting a busy Director with a big team and portfolio of work. But we’re keen on giving everyone some challenge and stretch as well, so there’s scope to get involved in other things in line with your natural inclination and interest when you have space.
