About the role

Following the establishment of our new business group Digital, Data and Insights (DDI), we have an exciting newly created position for a PA/Team Administrator to provide efficient and effective administration support to managers and teams. Working within the office of the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE), this role will also work across the Immigration business group for which the DCE is also responsible.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor, the Personal Assistant/Team Administrator is accountable for providing a high level of support to the DCE and his office to ensure they are able to effectively perform their roles and efficiently use their time and skill to help deliver MBIE’s outcomes. You will use strong relationship management and organisational skills to process assigned tasks and resolve issues.  You will be supported by a great team and network to help you get up to speed and thrive in this role.

Initially a six month fixed-term position, there may be pathways to permanent roles for the right candidate. This role offers the successful candidate a fantastic career development opportunity to scope the role to suit their interest, strengths and career aspirations.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Proven track record of experience and achievement in providing personal, administrative or customer-focused support.
  • Demonstrated agility and ability to respond to changes in demands and priorities.
  • Knowledge of administration systems and processes.
  • Sound relationship management skills.
  • Good standard of computer literacy and word processing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to prioritise to achieve MBIE outcomes.
  • Willingness to work in a flexible and dynamic environment.
