Health Services at Ara Poutama Aotearoa lead the delivery of patient-focused primary health care services to people within prisons across the country.

We are now recruiting for a Personal Assistant to provide quality secretarial and administrative support to the Deputy Chief Executive of Health.  Core accountabilities in this role will include efficient diary/calendar management for the DCE, managing the distribution and filing of papers and formal correspondence, travel and accommodation bookings, budget management and expenses support and overall acting as the key point of contact for the group – referring enquiries and liaising with stakeholders day-to-day.  This opportunity is integral to ensuring the smooth running of the team nationally and on a regional scale and has a proactive role to play in providing some administrative support to the wider Health services team.

To be successful for this role we are looking for the following in you:

  • Excellent knowledge of administrative processes, systems and technology;
  • Advanced and demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office applications and Finance software – with the ability to learn other applications integral to your role;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with stakeholders and across a range of organisational levels;
  • Prove ability to prioritise conflicting tasks and use initiative to obtain the required result;
  • A culturally competent team-player who can show commitment to supporting the delivery of kaupapa Māori and whānau-centered services.

The salary range for this role is $60,292 – $85,118.  Appointments are made based on skills and experience relevant to the role.
