The Team: What we do

Canterbury District Health Board prides itself on supporting and developing our Pharmacists. This position has plenty of challenging opportunities and innovation is encouraged by peers, senior staff and management. The department provides regular continuing education and numerous other training opportunities.

The Pharmacist role is highly varied; it encompasses rotations through various clinical areas across the Canterbury DHB hospital sites in Christchurch: Christchurch Hospital, Burwood Hospital and Hillmorton Hospital.

We’re currently looking for a qualified and NZ registered Pharmacist to join our team on a fixed-term, part-time basis (0.5FTE) covering parental leave until approximately September 2020! The days and hours required for this role are Thursdays, Fridays and alternate Wednesdays 8.00am to 4.30pm.

The Role: Where you fit in

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Clinical interventions
  • Medicines reconciliation
  • Patient counselling
  • Dispensing and aseptic production

Your skills will include the following:

  • Well-developed communication and time-management skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • The ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team
  • A flexible and motivated approach to your work
  • You must be a qualified and NZ registered pharmacist
  • Hospital experience is preferable
