The Team: What we do

We’re looking for a Pharmacy Technician on a full-time, fixed-term basis to cover high-demand periods over winter!

You will be based at Christchurch Hospital working on rotation between various clinical areas. Rotational technicians work in the in-patient dispensary and sterile production area. They spend time in Clinical ward rotations supporting the pharmacists and in the supply of all medications required by the patient. There may also be the opportunity to work at Hillmorton and Burwood Hospitals.

These are exciting positions working within an experienced team of pharmacists, technicians and assistants who are all passionate about the health and well being of the Canterbury community.

The Role: Where you fit in

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Dispensing inpatient and outpatient medication, and attending to administrative tasks associated with the dispensary
  • Assisting with the provision of clinical pharmacy services to wards/patients
  • Operational training of other staff members

Your skills will include:

  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • A client-focused approach to work and a commitment to providing high-quality service
  • A Pharmacy Technician’s Certificate (level five), or be upgrading to the former from an equivalent overseas qualification, is essential
