About the role:
An opportunity has arisen to join our Tokoroa based Physiotherapy team who cover in-patients, outpatients and community. The community aspect includes delivery of the early support discharge programme through the START service and the ACC In Home Strength and Balance programme which is targeted at preventing falls in the elderly.
The position is ideal for an experienced Physiotherapist or a new graduate who is keen to advance their career with the support and enthusiasm of a close knit team. Previous community based experience would be beneficial but is not essential. The role requires the successful applicant to be adaptable to change, resourceful and flexible to service needs and to have a genuine passion for working with patients and their Whanau on their health journey.
About the service
The Physiotherapy service has approximately 90 staff including Physiotherapists, assistants and administrators that work across the large geographical area that is Waikato DHB. We have staff based at Waikato Hospital, our secondary hospital in Thames and our 3 rural hospitals in Tokoroa, Te Kuiti and Taumaranui and across our many community bases in areas such as Morrinsville, Matamata, Cambridge, and Ngaruawahia.
Tokoroa Hospital has a 17 bed inpatient unit, a busy emergency department seeing approximately 13,500 presentations per year, a four bed primary birthing unit, outpatients department serviced by visiting specialists and a number of community services. GP practices and other health providers are co-located on the site.
Tokoroa is located centrally in the North Island of New Zealand. Tokoroa boasts a natural beauty of pine trees, forestry, and rolling green hills of dairy farming. Rotorua, Taupo, Ruapehu ski fields and Tauranga beaches are all easily accessible within 1 – 1 ½ hours drive.
