What you will do
Support training providers in the planning, timetabling, resourcing, administration and day to day support to courses.
The Planning and Scheduling Coordinators support the:

  • Facilitation of the delivery of learning to meet the required training objectives and outcomes of the wider NZDF;
  • Team Leaders Planning and Scheduling to enable the strategic planning, coordination and forecasting of learning in the regional camps, bases and satellite sites;
  • Management, monitoring and facilitation of the end-to-end planning and scheduling processes in consultation with training providers and in accordance with the Roles and Responsibilities Matrix. 

What we need

People and planning skills are key to being successful in this position as you will juggle, negotiate, collaborate, reconcile, investigate and placate anything from people to armoured vehicles.

Key skills and attributes needed include:

  • Initiative; the ability to research, analyse, query, question, extract and interpret complex information;
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a particular customer care focus;
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing support to multiple courses whilst meeting deadlines and retaining quality of service;
  • Flexibility in an ever-changing fast paced dynamic environment;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new applications.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:
Low level Security Clearance 

  • Most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five (5) years, OR
  • Is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one of more of the following countries for the last five (5) years; either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
