What you will do
As a Policy Advisor in our Communications and Information Systems (CIS) Branch you will join a newly established team responsible for developing, communicating and maintaining policies, processes and standards on a range of technical issues which could include anything from ICT security to the use of cloud and mobility solutions.
As well as developing policy you will work closely with the business to establish relationships so that you can promote and encourage compliance with policy as well as ensure that our policies are accessible, meaningful and current.
In addition a Senior Policy Advisor will take the lead on the development of frameworks, tools and processes for the design, consultation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and review of policies and standards. A senior will also take on larger scale assignments and play an active role in supporting the Deputy Director to develop and mentor other more junior members of the team.
What we need
We are keen to hear from you if you are a policy professional with demonstrable policy formulation experience and an ability to analyse technical information. You will be customer-focused, capable of building sound working relationships and able to adapt and learn on the way.

Please note: we are currently working through our longer-term office location requirements in the broader Wellington area. In the interim you would need to be able to work from our current CIS offices in Wellington and Petone.
