It is an exciting time to join Land Information New Zealand (LINZ). We have recently expanded our Policy team, and have Policy Advisor positions available on a permanent basis. You’ll be joining our committed, friendly & welcoming team as they collaborate to tackle several of our key Policy initiatives.
Our Policy Advisor roles gives you a significant opportunity to work across a wide variety of policy areas. You’ll be able to leverage off your previous professional policy experience to contribute to the development and delivery of policy advice, as well as contributing to the development, review and amendment of legislation administered by LINZ.
You’ll apply your understanding of cabinet, parliamentary and legislative processes to participate in end-to-end policy projects and take the opportunity to develop your professional skills. You’ll be given the independence and autonomy to develop as you lead pieces of policy work.
Our Policy team has a real commitment to professional development. You’ll have the benefit of a personally designed development plan and your manager will work consistently with you on this to see you meet your career goals. You’ll be comfortable thinking strategically and forward planning to develop new, as well as testing existing ideas around the way we work.
The policy team has close ties with our Crown Property and Geographic Information functions, so you’ll have a chance to build knowledge and understanding of these areas of work and finesse a broader scope of professional excellence. Our team doesn’t focus too heavily on “hierarchy,” we look to every member of our team to represent LINZ in inter-departmental, Cabinet and Select Committees. All team members are given the opportunity to contribute their professional knowledge to provide responses to Ministerial correspondence, Parliamentary questions contribute to Ministerial speech notes.
