The Office for Māori Crown Relations – Te Arawhiti
Te Arawhiti is a new Crown agency dedicated to fostering strong, ongoing and effective relationships with Māori across government. We do this by negotiating the settlement of historical Treaty of Waitangi claims (Te Kāhui Whakatau), engaging with applicants under the Marine and Coastal Area Act (Te Kāhui Takutai Moana), ensuring the durability of historical Treaty settlements (Te Kāhui Whakamana), and improving the health of the Māori Crown relationship (Te Kāhui Hīkina).
We’re looking for a talented and motivated Policy Advisor to work in the Chief Executive’s Office. We welcome applications for permanent, fixed term or secondment opportunities into this role.
The Policy Advisor supports the effective and efficient operation of the Office of the Chief Executive Te Arawhiti. You work with the Principal Business Adviser and Senior Executive Support to ensure the Chief Executive has the support and advice required to fulfil their roles, both internally to lead Te Arawhiti and externally in leading the Māori Crown relations system in the public service.
Your responsibilities will include: • Providing support on reports, presentations, ministerial correspondence and media responses as required by the Chief Executive • Provide relevant information and identify key issues in response to Ministerial Correspondence and Parliamentary Questions • Provide Coordination and support for Te Arawhiti’s relationships with the Minister’s Office

The salary range for this position is $61,132 – $86,303.
