Mō tō mātou rōpūAbout our team

The International Environment team at the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is looking for smart, driven Analysts to join them. The team is at the international forefront in delivering MPI’s ambition, working to ensure that as New Zealand builds towards being the world’s most sustainable provider of food, we are operating in an even global playing field which recognises our sustainability credentials.

MPI’s International Policy Directorate leads international engagement on a range of international and bilateral issues of interest to New Zealand’s primary sector, including trade, sustainability and economic growth, and establishes and represents New Zealand’s position in various international fora.

The International Environment team’s work spans international agriculture, forestry, and sustainable food system policy issues relating to climate change, biodiversity, sustainable forest management and sustainable development. The team contributes to, and participates in, a range of international environmental fora in order to protect and promote New Zealand views and positions in relation to sustainable production, sustainable resource use and international environmental governance.

Senior Policy Analyst: we’re looking for someone with strong policy, and strategic systems thinking experience to coordinate our sustainable food systems work program to develop and negotiate government positions.
