About the role

MBIE’s Policy Capability programme supports the professional development of our policy advisors and helps them to develop and deliver high-quality advice. It includes professional development initiatives, tools to support analysis and develop advice and processes to measure and manage the quality of advice.  The programme delivers a suite of initiatives across all MBIE’s policy functions, including training workshops, seminars, networking events, quality assurance including the review of advice and the provision of tools and materials to support policy advisors.

The programme is led by a Policy Director responsible for policy capability, supported by the Policy Capability Coordinator.  Policy Directors across MBIE lead and implement initiatives in the programme. The programme reports to a Policy Capability Steering Group. The Policy Capability Coordinator reports to the Director Group Operations, Labour, Science and Enterprise Branch.

The Policy Capability Coordinator will manage a programme of work across MBIE’s policy functions to contribute to building MBIE’s policy capability in order to provide high-quality advice. 

The Policy Capability Coordinator role is a permanent, part-time position based in Wellington.
