The Policy Group is recruiting for a Policy Manager in the Courts & Justice Services Policy Group.
The Policy Group develops and provides policy advice to the Minister of Justice, Minister for Courts and Associate Minister of Justice. The purpose of Policy Group is to provide a clear and prominent home for policy advice that contributes to the Ministry’s strategy of modern, accessible, people-centred justice services.
About the team
The Policy Manager reports to the General Manager, Courts & Justice Services.
The Courts & Justice Services Policy Unit provides a broad range of advice to support a fair and trusted justice system. We work to make the legislative framework for courts and tribunals more effective for users, providing people with faster, easier access to justice and reducing unnecessary delays in the system. We also have a strong focus on improving access to justice for all users of the justice system and administer legislation relating to the Family Court, family law and legal assistance.
Policy Managers are also expected to work collectively across the wider Group to share expertise, develop our people and lead our teams to advance our work programme priorities.

The Policy Group actively seeks a diverse applicant pool, with a variety of life experiences. An understanding of Te Āo Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi is particularly valuable.
The salary range for a Policy Manager is $138,854 – $196,030
