What you will do
The Force Health Organisation team delivers health services to NZDF military personnel in New Zealand to maintain, improve and restore health in order to enhance Force effectiveness.
As the Practice Nurse you will be responsible for providing a range of safe and efficient primary nursing services to NZDF personnel at our clinic in Linton. Providing health education and information to support patients to enhance their health outcomes will form part of this role along with providing support to the Medical Officer. There will be some administrative functions, medical records to maintain as well as the ordering of medical supplies.
What we need
You’ll be a Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate along with considerable experience in primary healthcare environment. A current vaccinator and smear taker certificate would be ideal.
Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will shine through, as will your personal time management skills and ability to work collaboratively with the immediate and wider health teams.
As an integral part of a small team you will need to be an independent, self -starter who can pro-actively manage all aspects of the day, make decisions autonomously, support the clinical team in the day to day running of the clinic and confidently manage aspects of patient care.

We don’t envisage the successful candidate starting in this role until early next year, so start the new year off in a great new role!

The Force Health Organisation (FHO) is part of the Joint Operational Health Group (JOHG). The FHO delivers health services to NZDF military personnel in New Zealand. The core health provision is primary health care with some additional focus on care specific to the military such as rehabilitation. The FHO provides a holistic, multidisciplinary and integrated approach to health care and this forms the basis of our person-centric model.
