The reputation of the Ministry is what the Engagement and Communications Team is all about.  We deliver advice and services to other teams, drive the Ministry’s stakeholder and internal communications strategies, and provide support to our Minister.

About the role 

Partnering with our senior leadership and other managers, you will provide strategic and operational advice to help us make the step change in our reputation that we are aspiring to. You will be adept at gaining buy-in from others in delivering organisational engagement activities. You will also play a key role as a mentor and leader in the Engagement and Communications Team.

Reporting to the Manager of Engagement and Communications, this is a fantastic opportunity to have an organisation-wide impact by helping to lift engagement and communications across the Ministry. What we are looking for

In this fast paced and exciting role, you will combine an ability to see the big picture with strong engagement skills that enable you to effectively work with managers and senior leaders. 

Along with excellent communication skills, you will be known for your proactive and energetic team approach that gets results. You will have a relevant background and qualifications in communication, public relations or journalism, with a minimum of 4-5 years experience, preferably in the government sector.

The salary band for this role is $111,000 – $150,000. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.
