mō te tūranga – About the role
In July 2020 MPI released its roadmap, Fit for a better world – accelerating our economic potential, which sets out actions to bring together opportunities the Government considers will accelerate the productivity, sustainability and inclusiveness of the primary sector, to deliver more value for all New Zealanders.
Water security and the productive use and storage of water are key elements within this roadmap. To help realise the potential of water storage MPI is creating a national strategic plan for water storage in conjunction with key partners including, government agencies, local government, Māori, Food and Fibre sector leaders and rural communities to focus future investment.
As the Principal Adviser you will provide MPI with strategic leadership in relation to the development and implementation of the Water Storage programme, by developing a strategic overview of the Water Storage programme and acting as the programme ambassador to Senior Stakeholders.
This role is fixed term to July 2021 and we will consider secondments from within MPI or across government.
