We are looking for a forward thinking Principal Adviser who is able to provide thought leadership to give effect to Biosecurity New Zealand’s strategic outcomes. 

The Principal Adviser will provide branch-wide strategic and intellectual leadership in relation to business improvement of Biosecurity New Zealand’s processes and systems.

We are looking for a Principal Adviser to join our team.  Our ideal candidate will be a strong conceptual thinker, balanced with a pragmatic approach to problem solving and implementation.  They will have excellent communication and relationship management skills, and a high drive for results.


They will have extensive experience in process improvement and development in a regulatory environment with an understanding of system wide performance and the ability to provide thought leadership in these disciplines.

The role reports to the Manager Operational Planning and Development within the Operational Planning & Development Group of Biosecurity New Zealand.  Our focus is on developing, maintaining and improving the business process and systems that support operational delivery. Working closely alongside our frontline teams to design related services, products and systems.


In this role you will be expected to lead process improvement and provide thought leadership within Biosecurity New Zealand using both your experience and technical skills as an expert in process improvement.

Salary range for this role is approx. $77k to $106k depending on skills and experience.
