The DHB Performance Support & Infrastructure directorate of the Ministry of Health works to ensure strong effective relationships and provide leadership and support to ensure DHBs deliver on and are accountable for their operational, capital and financial performance. We also deliver major health infrastructure projects for the Crown; process payments and administer contracts for health care services.

 

We are looking for two special people to join us in the Office of the Deputy Director-General. These are important roles in a team that provides executive support and business advice to the Deputy Director-General and the Senior Leadership team, as well as strong business support to the wider Directorate.

 

The attitude that you bring to your work is as critical to us as your skillset. We want you to be excited by the challenge of ‘making a difference’ in an operational role. This office is the executive function of the Directorate with high level administration and where an understanding of machinery of Government is required.

 

More specifically you will:

  • provide advice to support our Deputy Director-General and the Senior Leadership Team to successfully deliver on work programme priorities
  • co-ordinate the development, improvement, and implementation of business planning and performance activities
  • establish/monitor performance frameworks and provide meaningful performance information to support decision making
  • provide expert advice and support to people at all levels across the Directorate

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll:

  • be a natural collaborator sought out for your advice
  • have practical knowledge of the machinery of government
  • understand project management and the disciplines of project reporting
  • demonstrate the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
  • have excellent presentation skills and proven effectiveness in a variety of informal and formal presentation settings
