What you will do:
The Principal Advisor – Māori Engagement role is a key leadership role in how the Ministry strengthens its relationships with Māori across Aotearoa New Zealand.
You will be looked to for strategic leadership on the Ministry’s engagement approach, execution, and capability development. A critical priority is lifting the quality and effectiveness of how the Ministry engages with Māori as part of our overall commitment to engagement excellence. You will have an established track record of leadership and driving change in this area. You know exactly what excellence looks like and can confidently lead people to engage in a meaningful and genuine way with Māori in a wide range of contexts.
You are a highly-experienced operator and understand the importance of investing in the right systems, processes and capability to get results.
As a Principal Advisor you will work with multiple teams to support relationship and engagement specialists. You are known for getting the best out of people. Your collaborative working style enables you to foster key working relationships at various levels aided by your ability to always think about the bigger picture.

The salary range for the role is from $141,148 to $182,663
