About the role:

We’re looking for a talented, effective and motivated Principal Advisor to join us in ICT.

The primary purpose of the role is to enable the effective and efficient functioning of the branch.  It includes responsibility for all incoming and outgoing workflow and for managing effective relationships between the CIO and their Leadership team, their peers, the broader team and external stakeholders. 

The Principal Advisor is a trusted advisor to the CIO.  You will provide direct support by delivering impartial and high quality business, organisational and operational advice. You will work closely with the CIO and other members of the ICT Branch and wider leadership team to gather information, undertake high level analysis, problem solve, review and develop thinking on a range of issues and activities. This will include coordinating and managing priority issues to lead and steer delivery on ICT’s strategic outcomes. 

Skills and experience required:

  • Experience providing high quality advice to senior stakeholders
  • Experience working with senior management, processes and system
  • Proven critical thinking, analytical skills and an enquiring mind
  • The ability to deliver high quality strategic advice in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • The ability to present information and ideas effectively and engagingly to a wide range of audiences
  • Proven record of delivering quality work, including under tight time constraints
  • Proven record of working in a complex environment with multiple objectives running simultaneously
  • The ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and develop trust, credibility, buy-in and collaboration with managers, staff, vendors and other stakeholders
