The role of Principal Business Advisor is an exisiting role that is responsible for providing strategic and operational support and advice to tier 2 and 3 management to enable them to make strategic decisions on the prioritisation of the Vote’s departmental or non-departmental short to medium term resources required to maximise value and outcomes in line with the New Zealand Health Strategy.

 

To be successful, we are ideally looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant or an equivalent professional qualification.  You will be a highly skilled leader with strong influencing skills, flexibility, resourcefulness and tenacity. You will have experience in a similar role with the ability to think both operationally and strategically.  You can easily provide advice to inform future decision making for work programmes that best support the delivery of the Government’s and Ministry priorities and objectives. 

 

You are a strong communicator, and have the ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships and effective networks within the Ministry is essential.

 

You will also have a passionanate for sharing your knowledge and be able to influence, coach and mentor staff and stakeholders.  It would be highly beneficial to have an understanding of machinery of government and health system operation.
