The Data and Information Stewardship (DIS) group is looking to secure a passionate principal data warehouse analyst who wants to be part of their data warehouse strategy. Their vision is to enable the organization to enhance the current collection and storage of data in order to provide an exceptional customer experience for all New Zealand educational users.
The Role of Principal Data Warehouse Analyst
The Principal Data Warehouse Analyst is responsible for leading the warehouse analytical team, to provide the analysis of data requirements from inception to completion within the Data Solutions and Warehousing team. They will be responsible for ensuring that effective and qualitative analysis and modelling function are performed to implement a functional warehouse that supports the Ministry’s analysis and decision making process. The Principal Data Warehouse Analyst must assist in the delivery of a data solution that supplements our BI capabilities to deliver quality products.
Given this is a principal role, you will also help to coach and mentor those less experienced in the team in order to lift their capabilities and champion best practices for a reporting solution.
A leader with a strong background in Data Warehouse Analysis, with at least 15 years’ experience. You will have in depth knowledge of leading software products and technologies pertaining to Data Warehousing Analysis with demonstrated experience. They must be both motivated and an intellectually inquisitive person who will be able to identify requirements, provide solutions and communicate findings in an understandable way. They are technically strong and advocates for best practice and is innovative. They will be part of an agile team that are responsible for ensuring the authoritative data source for the Ministry are well managed, of high quality and continuously improved. They must be capable of working across the Ministry and external stakeholders.
They must have a strong background in data warehouse modelling, with experience in data vault modelling will be seen as an advantage.
The team will proactively develop and maintain data solutions for data customers that enable them to embed data driven practices into their business.
