The NZ Structures team is growing, and Jacobs is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to provide technical, professional and pastoral leadership to the entire structural team including the Location Leaders, supports the Section Leader and provides Structural Engineering technical leadership and delivery.
You will provide consistent leadership and role modelling of Jacobs’ core values, fostering an inclusive and diverse culture across the team that embodies Jacobs’ Culture of Caring and prioritises the health and wellbeing of our people. You will set clear direction and provide a strong role model regarding client focus and responsiveness and your very strong client relationships will help to ensure we can identify and anticipate client needs.
Your recruitment, retention and development programs must reflect this need. You will provide solid technical engineering expertise and provide unique solutions to complex problems, supporting the wider APAC Structural engineering team and contributing to the advancement of the Structural discipline both locally and across APAC and beyond.
The role is full-time, but you will perform the role in conjunction with the secondary role. The secondary role is around business development, supporting the Section Leader in all aspects of work winning, client relationships, bid preparation and client feedback.
• Lead and undertake technical project work involving Building Design
• Lead the delivery of Structural and/or multi-discipline Built Environment projects
• Lead the preparation of bids and proposals
• Lead Safe Design activities
• Responsibility for the quality of Structural technical work by the entire team
• Provision of mentoring and guidance
• Business Development and winning work
• Coordination with overseas offices
• Travel to other offices within ANZ and beyond as required to fulfil the role
• Forge and maintain connections with the global Built Environment cohort
**Here’s What You’ll Need:**
+ Circa 20 years’ experience in Structural Engineering for buildings, with a significant proportion being in a seismic zone such as New Zealand
+ Significant experience in technical and professional leadership of the Structural discipline
+ A track record of successful project delivery, adhering to strict quality assurance systems
+ Excellent problem solving and issue resolution skills.
+ Chartered Professional Engineer
+ Industry memberships and active participation at conferences/thought leadership
+ Professional Registration in Australia or NZ
+ Resourcefulness and ability to take ownership of your designated tasks and those of the entire team
+ An excellent understanding and application of relevant ANZ Structural design standards.
