Our Innovation team sits in our Information Services group and is tasked with discovering opportunities to improve the operation of the TEC, and those the TEC works with, through connecting evolving business need with emerging technological change.


What will you be doing?

  • Leading key portfolios of work and projects.
  • Identifying opportunities to use new information and new technology within the TEC.
  • Exploring ideas through researching or designing new solutions.
  • Establishing and maintaining a network of collaborative relationships within the team, and across and outside the organisation.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Ability to stimulate people’s thinking to help them imagine what the future could be.
  • Appreciation of AI and ML technology and how it can change the business, especially where it allows the business to use data in new ways.
  • Appreciation of non-relational data modelling and multi-model databases.
  • Familiarity with frameworks and standards relating to both open data and data privacy.
  • Understanding of New Zealand tertiary education sector would be a bonus.
