The role

The Tourism Policy team is looking for a Principal Policy Advisor to lead the Responsible Camping policy work programme, we are the government’s lead advisor on Tourism Issues.  Camping is a great way to experience New Zealand but growth in visitor numbers has placed pressure in some places. We are looking for someone with strong experience in regulatory or legislative change ready to lead the long-term policy changes to create a sustainable responsible camping system in New Zealand. You will be the policy lead in a small team and will be a coach and mentor for other team members. Most of the legislation sits with other parts of government so your strong influencing skills will be utilised to rally a range of stakeholders across central and local government and in the tourism industry to implement effective change.

About you
