The work programme of the Group you will be joining is interesting and varied. We work with several Ministers across a range of subjects. We are the stewards and the central regulator of New Zealand’s building system. Our role is to work with sector stakeholders to deliver future focused building regulation that protects people’s safety and property, promotes sustainability and strengthens the performance of the building industry.

About the role
Working as part of the Building System Strategy and Performance team you’ll play a key role in the development and delivery of significant strategic initiatives for the building sector. No day will be the same – you’ll thrive on the intellectual challenge and the numerous opportunities to apply your policy craft to deliver tangible results.
You are a superb communicator with influencing skills, and able to work collaboratively across various groups. Furthermore, you bring a solid understanding of legislative frameworks and processes, and a strong understanding of the wider political environment and Ministerial priorities. You will also have a passion and ability for developing the capability and expertise of others through coaching, mentoring and the provision of up to date frameworks, concepts and knowledge.
