The System Strategy and Policy directorate at the Ministry of Health is seeking an experienced Principal Policy Analyst, or Senior Policy Analyst looking for the next step, to be part of the Therapeutic Products team for the next 12-15 months.
You will be part of a project team that is delivering the Therapeutic Products Bill. This is an extremely interesting programme as it’s a foundational piece of legislation for the health and disability system. It will provide New Zealand with modern fit-for-purpose regulation as well as support and enable this country to access new and emerging health care technology. This is an exciting work programme so if regulatory policy is your thing, we want to hear from you!
You will need to demonstrate to us that you have a strong understanding of how legislative and regulatory instruments can be applied to deliver better economic and social outcomes and improve the lives of New Zealanders.
As well as extensive knowledge of public policy and machinery of government, you will demonstrate a drive for results that is achieved through initiative, leadership and collaboration. You will be able to quickly assimilate new and complex information, apply your excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to work to tight timeframes. Your problem-solving abilities, leadership, influence and organisational skills will help take this project through to delivery and you will have the career satisfaction of knowing that you were a key project team member in achieving these outcomes.
The Ministry of Health is the kaitiaki of the health and disability system in New Zealand.
