AG GE+G is looking for a Technical Principal Program Manager to enable growth of Azure in Australasia. You will partner closely with your colleagues in engineering and infrastructure organisations, as well as country and area leadership to drive adoption of Azure. You will be responsible for programmatically removing engineering blockers and defining investment strategies to foster the growth of Azure and which unlock new market opportunities. By connecting your deep technical experience, customers’ requirements and market demand with engineering product teams, you will help ensure Azure is the most compelling and complete solution to support workloads further our customers’ missions.

As a Country Engineering Lead (CEL), you will define country-relevant priorities and strategy for Azure Engineering investments to maximize utilization of Azure. This includes the definition and execution of Azure infrastructure investment strategies, as well as tailored engineering-led programs and motions that remove technical constraints, unblock customer adoption and enable key new markets and technologies.
The successful candidate must be customer obsessed, collaborative, outcome orientated, and be able to apply principle-based thinking to critical problems. The Country Engineering Lead is expected to constantly innovate and move upstream, whilst creating a sustainable operational environment.
In the pursuit of highly-optimised Azure infrastructure relevant to local market requirements, the Country Engineering Lead will capture and signal platform and data centre priorities to Engineering that deliver the right product/market fit. This includes the acceleration of demand-driven service requirements, the signalling of customer-centric platform requirements and removal of engineering obstacles.
The Engineering Lead will engage directly with key customers and partners up to the CXO level, supporting partnerships and opportunities with tier-one customers, whilst also driving large strategic and complex projects. Additionally, the successful candidate will establish partnerships and a unified operating model with the local subsidiary and provide transparency and situational awareness of Azure Engineering investments and priorities through regular engagement and reporting.
• 5+ years in an engineering role as an architect or technical program manager
• Experience in cloud-scale solution architecture, delivery or software development
• Knowledge of the Azure platform and infrastructure
• Demonstrated ability to drive complex programs and solutions that deliver quality outcomes
• Excellent interpersonal and group dynamic skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of business and technology-related strategy
• Track record of high-quality, autonomous and execution of tasks
• Demonstrated systematic attention to detail
• 10+ years in an engineering role as an architect or technical program manager
• Data centre infrastructure planning and architecture experience
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equiv. industry experience
